I seem to have acquired a number of these beautiful stones so I am sure you will see more pieces in the future on this site. This large stone (1 5/8 X 7/8), it mounted in a sturdy sterling silver setting with a bead accent. The bracelet is forged and hammered into shape with a hook. This style is very comfortable to wear as it doesn't shift on your wrist like a cuff would.
Jasper is an aggregate of microgranular quartz and/or chalcedony and other mineral phases, is an opaque, impure variety of silica, usually red, yellow, brown or green in color; and rarely blue. The common red color is due to iron inclusions. It is highly durable and beautiful gemstone.
