This lovely blue-green chrysocolla has a gold filled bezel and sterling mounting set off with sterling bead wire. The surprise is on the back where I have cut 4 stars into the design. This make this beautiful stone visible on the back also.
The chain is sterling silver and with a lobster claw clasp and is approximately 18" long.
Chrysocolla has a blue-green color and is a minor ore of copper, having a hardness of 2.5 to 7.0 depending on its concentration of silica. Most jewelry grade chrysocolla is around a 5-6 in hardness, making it durable if care is taken not to scratch it. Because of its light color, it is sometimes confused with turquoise.
